David Whitaker

David started his adult life working in the textile trade so the interest in yarns and weaving was nurtured then and has remained with me since those times of many years ago. Five or six years ago demanded major changes in how he viewed his life were paramount and once again weaving and textiles came to the front.

Time has enabled a passion for the use of natural protein fibre, sheep’s wool, alpaca, silk and other yarns of a similar nature to develop and be expanded. The thought of any animal fibre just being burnt as waste seems ridiculous to David.

He has developed a slightly restricted range but they are all ‘things’ he enjoys and he is very happy weaving whether it’s a wool and silk scarf, a tartan cloth sold by the metre or a luxury waffle weave cot blanket they all represent a dedication to always do his very best.
